Thank you for your interest in participating in this project. 

The overarching goal of my project is to create ways for students to delve deeper into cultural diversity by means of personal connections. My hope is that the materials I create with this project will become a resource for teachers and students to become global citizens, break down barriers, abolish stereotypes, and become more open-minded and inclusive to all people, both far and near.

Please see the below checklist and forms for submitting an audio or video to this website.

General Guidelines for both audio and video:

  • Represent opinions on a topic, do not generalize or stereotype
  • Look at examples and make a clear plan
  • Practice and test sound before recording
  • Audio: 4-6 min
  • Video: 2-3 min
  • Edit and listen/watch before final submission

Checklist for podcast recording

  • Read through the website and listen to other examples 
  • Read through the Interview Questions (in English) / Interview Questions (in Spanish) and think about who you would like to interview
  • Contact the interviewee and give a brief explanation of the project (Example Email)
  • Set a time and date with interviewee
  • Meet with interviewee to discuss topic, leading questions and practice
  • Collect Audio/Video Permission Release Form
  • Test your recording equipment
  • Set up and test sound
  • Record interview
  • Listen and repeat if necessary
  • Save as an MP3
  • Fill out form to submit

Checklist for windows to the world videos

  • Look at videos “Resources” page and watch other examples
  • Decide on topic and location to film (School, House, Town, website, etc)
  • Who will be in your video? Collect Video Permission Release Form
  • Test your recording equipment
  • Set up and test sound
  • Record
  • Listen and repeat if necessary
  • Listen and edit as needed
  • Save as YouTube video and make public
